Follow me on twitter. I’ll be tweeting facts related to the new album, among other things.
I’m happy to announce that I’ve signed with Shelflife Records (Thieves Like Us, The Radio Dept., Burning Hearts etc) and that they will release the new album in America fall 2012.
I’ve also agreed with Universal Records in the Philippines, and they will release it there, just like they did with the two previous albums. News for the European and Japanese audience will follow soon.
After Ian Catt had finished the last mixes, Guy Davie at Electric Mastering added that final sparkle to the album, treating it through a console that used to be the heart of EMI’s studio in Nigeria in the 70s. That doesn’t mean the record sounds like Fela Kuti or Wings, though.
How does it sound, you may ask. Hopefully, in a not too distant future, you can be the judge of that.
Jacob Graham (The Drums) shares his favorite new musical discoveries in a recent issue of NME (25th Feb). Jacob says: “I’ve just discovered Dylan Mondegreen, a Norwegian songwriter who hasn’t released anything since 2009’s ‘The World Spins On’. He writes sad, sweet songs – dare I make a Blueboy comparison? Perhaps! There are equal measures of Jens Lekman, Acid House Kings and Sufjan Stevens in there, too”, and he places Wishing Well first in his Top 5 list.
The Day Away With You was originally intended to be included on The World Spins On, but didn’t make the cut. It was a bonus track on the Korean version of While I Walk You Home, released by Pastel Music. However, it has not been released elsewhere. I thought I’d share it with you now, so here it is, as a free download.
